The 2022 World Snooker Championship final begins at 13:00 local time (BST) on Sunday, May 1 at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The second session is due to start six hours later. For viewers in the United States and Canada, that means a start time of 08:00 ET.
The 2022-23 snooker season resumes with an invitational event this weekend, the World Mixed Doubles. It's a new competition for the sport with the top men's and women's players including Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson , Reanne Evans and Ng On-yee playing in the tournament.
Now noted for his longevity in the sport, he has made a record equalling 30 appearances in the final stages of the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible. He became the oldest world champion in snooker history when he won his seventh title in 2022, aged 46 years and 148 days.
The 980-seater Crucible theatre has a contract to host Betfred World Snooker Championship action until 2027 – the 100th anniversary of the first ever event.
